Google Adwords

On Facebook I recently posted: "Ever thought about giving Google Adwords a try? Let me know and I'll send you an offer code to get $100 worth of advertising when you spend $25. New Adwords accounts only."

If you aren't using Google Adwords you may not be that familiar with it.  Adwords is pay per click advertising, meaning you pay when someone clicks on your ad. These ads show usually on the right in the Google search results.

How much do you pay per click?  Well that depends of course on the keywords you use for your advertising. Google has a tool to estimate your keyword cost.  Remember this is pay per click so you are only charge when someone clicks on the ad.  If the first keyword you entered is to high, work with some other ones.  The tool will allow you make a more informed decision when choosing what keywords to use and help you to maximize your advertising budget.

With Google Adwords you set a budget.  There are no minimum spending requirements.  You set your daily budget and you also get to specify the maximum amount you are willing to pay per click.  On a shoestring budget but want to drive some visitors to your site?  We'll make the math easy here, $1 a day at a $0.10 per click maximum will get you between 280 and 310 visitors a month.

Say you live in Indiana like me, will a click benefit you if it comes form a visitor in California?  Maybe.  I do have clients in other parts of the U.S.  However, if you are paying for the click you might prefer it come from down the street. With Google Adwords you can do that, you can select a city or the cities you want your ads shown in.

The long and short, if you have thought about trying pay per click advertising why not give it a try now. Post below, on my Facebook page, or email me and I'll send you a code that gets you $100 if you start an account and spend $25.  At a $1 a day you'd be getting just over 4 months of advertising for $25.
